Two correspondents told me about this album within a few months of each other. Both of them had "promotional copies," an unusual coincidence. I suspect that this compilation existed only in promotional form, and was never issued to the public. It contains selections from six recordings in the Sargent/EMI series. The sixth recording in that series, Pirates, was completed in early 1959, although not issued until 1961, so this compilation could date anywhere between 1959–61. Howard Friedman pointed out that his copy (the mono version) captions the operas as "P[ublic] D[omain] U.S.A." 1961 is the latest date when that would have been true. (Starting in 1962, the operas were in the public domain everywhere.)

The selections are:

Side 1Side 2
  1. Pirates: "I am the very model of a modern major-general"
  2. Pirates: "When a felon's not engaged in his employment"
  3. Pinafore: "I am the Captain of the Pinafore"
  4. Pinafore: "When I was a lad"
  5. Yeomen: "I have a song to sing, O!"
  6. Yeomen: "Oh! A private buffoon"
  7. Yeomen: "Strange Adventure"
  1. Mikado: "Three little maids from school"
  2. Mikado: "A more humane Mikado"
  3. Mikado: "On a tree by a river"
  4. Iolanthe: "When all night long"
  5. Iolanthe: "When you're lying awake"
  6. Iolanthe: "If we're weak enough to tarry"
  7. Gondoliers: "Dance a cachucha"
  8. Gondoliers: "I am a courtier"
